Alex Wilson Pottery

From the craftsman: My ware follows human form and mechanics, fitting and unobtrusive, like an unassumingly comfortable shoe. Its aim is to be useful in an everyday sense, and if aesthetically pleasing; then so much the better.
I trained in the use of the cow-horn and quill, and slip-decoration at Wetheriggs, a Victorian era country pottery in the Lake District of Northern England. The basis of my ware is from this tradition, with additional references from early American salt-glazed slipware, 18th century British and European pottery, and the earthenware of my native Scotland.
My ware is safe in the dishwasher, can be used in the microwave and oven; and contains absolutely no lead in its glazes, slips or body.
