I am a proud Iowan Artist who creates wearable art masquerading as jewelry. My main line is called Mechanical Romance. I make the jewelry starting with something old and junky, like a non-working 1930’s typewriter. We take it apart, clean and seal when necessary and combine pieces with other found objects and more standard jewelry components. This can involve the following tasks: hammering, riveting, cutting, bending, melting, fusing, soldering, twisting, linking, tumbling, filing and sanding.
