From the artist: Shortly after I retired, I took a 3-dimensional/metal class at the Des Moines Art Center, & from then on I was hooked on making jewelry. I've always loved everything vintage, & found I especially liked combining traditional jewelry making techniques (wire-wrapping, fabrication, casting, enameling, etc.) with vintage materials like old broken jewelry, Cracker Jack/gumball charms, dice, & other found objects (lithograph tin scraps, pop bottle tops, buttons, typewriter keys, electrical resisters, tokens, fishing lures, etc.). I find inspiration in the vintage items themselves & love researching their history, & then sharing that history on a little card that comes with each piece of jewelry. My hope is that everyone that buys the jewelry I make gets as much enjoyment out of wearing it as I do making it.
