Flower Lithograph Tin & Copper Necklace

Flower Lithograph Tin & Copper Necklace

Regular price $45.00

The pendant is made with lithograph tin that I cut out, domed & bezel-set in copper.  I textured the half-circle base with cheesecloth, patinated it with liver of sulfur, & cut a small flower shape on the back.  Lithography is a method of printing that dates back to the 1790s.  During the early & mid-20th century, lithography was used to produce brightly colored tin that was used in toys, TV trays, lunch boxes, candy containers, doll houses & other items.  The chain is copper cable link, & measures 17”, but can be worn shorter.  I added a small butterfly charm at the back to complement the flowers on the lithograph tin.
