The base is one of the keys from a Saxophone from the 1920's. Don't worry, no working instruments were harmed in the production of this piece! The sax was in sad shape, and per the experts would have cost a fortune to restore to working shape. I call this one my “Jazz Lady” because to me jazz and saxes are interchangeable! The white spot is genuine mother of pearl, adding just that touch of 1920's elegance that is all about the jazz age! The chain on this is also recycled from costume jewelry.
